This has been working for a while, but always caused some skipping at the start of the song…

Today after fiddling with the config settings (reducing preload of songs and some other small things) I was able to remove the skip. The only thing left todo is making it run native under windows. Then we have a truely crossplatform music player. (It now runs on mac osX, linux, Little/Big endian. routers ipod etc.)
