Gnome 3 multi monitor support

Gnome 3 multi monitor support is _really_ bad. One of the things is that the secondary monitor only has one virtual desktop. To make it behave more like 1 large desktop (so a virtual desktop spreads over both monitors), disable the following setting in gconf editor: /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/workspaces_only_on_primary This makes things a slight bit more doable. read more »

GMPC release been postponed till tomorrow, I had to build a block hut.. (don’t ask).  

Playing with the competition

Well not really, GMPC is a niche product (MPD client) while banshee is an all round desktop music (media?) player. But playing with it I did notice some things: It is a lot faster for large collections then it used to be. The large album view (all the small cover art) is still slow scrolling. read more »
