I have added/updated a feature in GPX Viewer that allows you to select a part of the track (in the speed plot) and view the stats of that.

A small list of updates:
- Code cleanups
- Use gio for file access, so you can open gpx files directly from f.e. the internet.
- Support routes (handled as tracks)
- Cleaner XML parsing (using Xml.TextReader)
- Use pins to show begin/end of track and highlight point in speed graph.
