    gmpc is awesome, but GtkStatusIcon pretty much sucks :(

    Shamefully it does. but there are win32 builds and eggstatusicon does not work for that (and neither on mac osX).
    Maybe if it irritates me enough I write a wrapper around it, so it uses the one on linux the other on the other os..
